The victorious English army massacred the enemy, and thus the slaughter among the Highlanders ranks was high. It is said that in the twilight hours a figure of a Highlander can sometimes appear to passers by. Visitors who stay at a local bed and breakfast near the battlefield have heard the ghostly sound of a piper who died on the battlefield.
