A number of hauntings have been reported in the village of Pluckley. The village has a reputation as the most haunted in England, so it is perhaps not surprising that it also has a phantom hitchhiker.

Raymond Breakspear a local Taxi-driver, was flagged down by a figure at the side of the road at about 3am one morning. The figure then got into the back seat. Breakspear then turned to ask the man where he would like to go, he was surprised to find no one there.
