Situated between Ashbourne and Buxton the Bull i’th Thorn is reported to be one of the oldest inn’s in the county.

The name means ‘Bull in a thorn bush’ . Visitors to the inn have experienced mirrors falling off the wall, and felt a strange sensation of some ghostly hands touching their hair. A ghost named Little Jenny has been seen sitting on a small box in the pub. This ghost is thought to be a child who died during the great plague in the 1600’s.
