Opened on the 30th March 1933 and designed by Chester Button and Roland Fletcher, The baths had had many a function. During WWII, the vast network of underground tunnels and cellars which lie beneath the complex were used as an air raid shelter; posters and drawings from that time can still be seen to this day. In later years the buildings where transformed in to an entertainment venue playing host to the top celebrities of the 1960 and 70’s.
